You guys are like Pavlov’s dogs. ILU.
I bet she could swim in a pool made out of our tears by now. Honestly.
I trust her to write wonderful stories, break my heart, and put it back together again. Thanks for all you do, Abi.
All of that.
Okey dokey, I’m seeing a pattern in the asks and comments I’m getting, so I’ll just address them here.
You’re not seeing any phone conversations between Ty and Zane because they live together. They don’t have to chat online because they’re sitting next to each other on the couch. What would I have them say? ‘Hey Ty, will bring me some toilet paper? I’m out up here.’ Please.
I haven’t released any snippets with Ty and Zane because I’m not writing their book right now. I have no snippets of Ty and Zane, although I did give you their cameo from Shock & Awe EVEN THOUGH it ruined the surprise that they cameo in Shock & Awe. You’re fucking welcome.
I am not ignoring Zane. I am not treating him like a step-child (which, btw, is insulting to step-parents who are usually more awesome than the asshole fathers or mothers (or writers!) that walked out on their kids in the first place) so shut the fuck up about poor Zane. He’s busy getting laid and making his zombie plans.
This text seriously made my night. Reason #3 why my favorite author is better than yours: she won’t take no bullshit from anybody. Not even, actually, specially not from her greedy, selfish, ungrateful readers. So bitches, FUCK OFF!
“I love these characters. I enjoy everything about it, from the creation of the stories to the fan reactions to the momentary panic when I can’t get my laptop to turn on.”
May 21 | Happy Birthday to Abigail Roux! Evil Overlord, Red Queen, Purveyor of Fine Black Market Orchids
This is very cool! Thank you!
Happy Birthday, precious lady!!
I love it when authors interact with their readers. I’m very active on Rhys Ford’s blog. I stalk Dani Alexander’s website for news about Cai’s book (I don’t feel very optimistic, just hopeful at this point). I tweet and harass (very lovingly) Alexandr Voinov, Cat Grant, and some others. But hands down, Abigail Roux has this.
I spent the past two days looking through her Tumblr blog, and the woman is a machine. She engages her readers, not only through her writing, but through her interactions with them. She’s funny, witty, and her take-no-prisoners-or-their-bullshit attitude is very refreshing. She has literally created a Cut & Run universe filled with all her characters. It’s very easy to get sucked into that world and I’ll admit, I resisted. I’m still resisting but I can see my efforts are futile.
Reason #8 why my favorite author is better than yours: she doesn’t only write books about characters, she IS the characters.
I just finished re-reading Touch and Geaux and found the ONE gif that sums up the whole experience of reading this book. So, there you go:
Thanks Abi, for the wonderful thrill. Best book of the series, no doubt!
Yes Abi, I’m looking at you.
oh lordy - that’s awesome!!!!
Who’s up for a dream sequence type zombie novella?
1- Do you even have to ask?
2- what’s gonna cost us?
I realized last night that the Nick & Kelly thing couldn’t have come at a better time, really. And Abi is awesome for letting it happen and encouraging it.
Because can you imagine what things would be like if all we had was the end of T&G to talk about for the next year?
It’s like Nick & Kelly are helping to soften the blow and ease the wait for the next book by being sweet and awesome and fun and hot. They’re our own personal therapy.
True story. We’d be fucking miserable mourning the end of T&G, but now we have Nick and Kelly and we can obsess about them too. And it’s all kinds of excitement, cause it’s new and unexpected.
And I love Abi for having the patience to answer all those questions on TIR, cause honestly, that page is like therapy and comedy and cuteness all wrapped up in one. It’s like you can actually talk to them and it makes the whole C&R experience more real. Reason #5 why my favorite author is better than yours: she loves to torture us but somehow she loves to give us nice things even better. :)
Stars & Stripes is up today in the DABWAHA book tournament! This round will only last until 11:59 PM (CST)! So go spread the word, VOTE!!!!, and let’s show again how us minions are a force to be reckoned with!
Here’s the link directly to where you can go vote! http://dabwaha.com/2013/03/22/
Done. Come on, minions. Let’s vote!!!
I started out with nefarious purposes and it bit me in the ass.
1st: make us more attached to Nick?! Is that even possible?! I already love Nick to biblical proportions. So that ship (ha-ha-ha) has sailed.
2nd: does that mean we get to see Nick calling people “babe” in the next books?! Cause I’m totes on board with this game. It’s sort of like Danno in H5O. It’s cute and adorbs.
3rd: I love you, Abi. In a total I-m-your-fan-not-a-creep-kinda way. But still, love you. That is all.
Rachel sent me a message a while ago that inspired me to do this. I hope you guys like it :)
Aww you guys…just don’t.
Bonus Scene (because i´m sick and I don´t have anything better to do ;):
I don’t think I’ve ever been gayer than I am right now.

Aww Sonja, you dazzle me with your talent. Perfect scene. Perfect cast. Perfection.
He had no doubt that he knew who Ty was now, inside and out. He knew every one of Ty’s quirks and weak spots and favorite things. He knew what Ty found funny and what annoyed him. He knew what would break his heart. He knew how to touch him to drive him wild, and when to back off when Ty was having a bad day. He knew that Ty was kind and loyal and funny, that he had a deep sense of honor and righteousness. He knew that Ty would die to save a stranger, and kill to save a friend. That was the type of man he was.
